The interpretation of dreams is a fascinating subject, and one which could take a lifetime to truly master! The meaning of dreams and how to remember dreams, are all subjects that are well worth investigating, if you are interested in understanding yourself.
Psychic interpretation of dreams can vary from psychic to psychic, but psychologists and doctors agree that the way a person sleeps and dreams can help them understand a person's concerns, personality, character and experience of life. This can be useful when treating someone medically, as well as part of a person's self-development.
Why we need to dream is a mystery, as the bizarre and esoteric experiences we have when we sleep seem to bear little relation to real life, at first. On closer inspection it is clear though, that there are definite links between how we dream, and how we think, feel and experience our lives.
The interpretation of symbols in dreams is something that people through the ages have claimed to understand, and while some symbols are interpreted in the same way across cultures, others are interpreted differently, depending on where and when you were born. This makes dream interpretation something of a mystery to the layman, as who's interpretation of a dream are we to believe?
Most every dream interpreter agrees that when you are interpreting a dream, the first part of the interpretation relates to how a person feels in the dream, as the background emotion is thought to be very important in why the person is having the dream that they are having, and to what circumstances in their lives the dreams may relate. There are also important aspects to the symbols and what is taking place in the dream as to the dream's interpretation.
Sometimes, it is felt that the reason for the dream is to experience something that a person would or would not like to experience in real life. Instead of experiencing it when awake, the subconscious plays out the imagined experience when asleep. Other times, it is felt that the person re-lives an experience when asleep, that they have already experienced when awake, and it can be very useful to examine why that would be, in dealing with any issues that a person needs to address in their lives.
Psychic interpretation of dreams is something that many psychics are able to do, that is to use the experience of dreaming to examine what the person needs most, based on intuitive interpretation, and sometimes, interpretation from Spirit Guides or loved ones in Spirit. And some dreams can be predictive, as is the classic case of the man who was a contestant on Countdown, a famous Quiz show on Channel 4 in the UK. The night before, a contestant claimed to have dreamt that an exact 9 letter combination would arise in the game, and that he knew a 9 letter word that he could create from them! Not only did this event occur the following day, but the man's brother was willing to corroborate the story, as before the programme was filmed, they had discussed the dream in detail and the nine letter word he would create if these 9 letters were to arise in the programme! this seems totally beyond mathematical likelihood as I'm sure you'd agree! Did his dream foretell his future?
There are a hundred dream dictionaries available in the book shops and online, and trying to interpret a dream from an alphabetical list of symbols in a dream, probably won't get you far in using dreams to understand yourself better, though it can be a lot of fun! A proper dream interpretation involves talking about your feelings, what YOU think your dream means to YOU, and maybe looking at the archetypal symbols in the dream, as Carl Jung suggests we do in his psychological studies of dream interpretation.
